The Ugly Girl

A work of lithography embodying incandescence and sparks
A needle prick at the tip of my finger
A drop of blood in a pint of water
Dissolving into particles of void

A microscopic paramecium on a bed of reefs
A molecular dust on the fringes of the galaxy
A weathered penny on a desolate beach
Civilization in a forsaken planet

A woman in poverty graces through a forest
Bags of silkworms on her back
The harvesting of life and the reaping of perfection
Subtraction but never retraction
A fraction of traction is enough for non action
An extraction becomes a visible diffraction

A well of infinite wisdom
Spread across a vast savannah of dreams and imagination
Indoctrination of a cleric by a clerical staff
The flourishing of morning glories in a desert at twilight
Perplexing behaviour indeed
Likened to a proselytizing prophet masquerading as a nonchalant charlatan

Imagine a world where dreams are upon every waking
Sleep is a walk in reality
Imagine today is that day
Imagine that day is today

Walking into the House of God dipped in starvation
A realization of the modern day theft of life
A mere glimpse of your purity is a penultimate to discovery
The finality being the appreciation of the self
A wicked gibe thrown relinquishes the ultimate realization

A strand of gold strewn across my palm
Fragility in sight
Magnanimous reverence at heart
A personal conversation with God in the afternoon over tea
A discourse on tsunamis and earthquakes
And a chat on mouse pads and calculators

A bulwark to introspection nonetheless
But with stars coerced to project, fortunately
